Based on Friday night’s game, you knew tonight’s game wasn’t going to be pretty. But it was enough to get the Los Angeles Clippers their 17th-straight win as they defeated the Utah Jazz for the 2nd time in 3 days, 107-96.
Even though the Jazz kept it close for most of the game, even Al Jefferson’s 30 points couldn’t bring them a victory. Clipper Caron Butler in particular had a fantastic game, making all six of his 3-point attempts, 5 of them in the first quarter alone. He led the Clippers with 29 points, and he didn’t even play in the fourth quarter.
For the Clippers, Chris Paul and Jamal Crawford put up 19 points, and Paul contributed 9 assists and 5 steals. DeAndre Jordan contributed 14 points and even shot 75% from the free throw line, knocking down free throws when they mattered.
For the Jazz, Gordon Hayward had 16 points and 5 rebounds, and Derrick Favors contributed 11 points and 7 rebounds.
With tonight’s win, the Clippers become the 3rd team in NBA history to record a perfect month. The Clippers head out on the road to face the Denver Nuggets on Tuesday, hopefully ringing in the New Year with a win.
