After a disappointing loss to the Orlando Magic on Saturday at home, the Los Angeles Clippers wanted to make sure that wouldn’t continue into a losing streak on the road. There was no need for worry, even with Chris Paul out with a bruised kneecap. The Clippers rolled past the Memphis Grizzlies tonight, 99-73.
The Clippers didn’t miss a beat without Paul, dominating on both ends of the court. The Clippers held the Grizzlies to 30.3% from the field and forced 16 turnovers. It should be noted, however, that the Grizzlies were missing leading scorer Rudy Gay, who was excused for his grandmother’s funeral.
For the Clippers, Matt Barnes and Jamal Crawford led the team with 16 points, and Barnes pulled down 7 rebounds. Eric Bledsoe followed with 14 points, and Blake Griffin put up 10 points and 6 rebounds.
For the Grizzlies, Zach Randolph led the team with 15 points and 12 rebounds. Wayne Ellington followed with 11 points and 6 rebounds, and Darrell Arthur contributed 10 points.
The Clippers don’t get much rest after tonight’s victory, as they take on the Houston Rockets tomorrow night on the road.
