Los Angeles Dodgers Game Postponed Tuesday. Doubleheader on tap for Wednesday

The Los Angeles Dodgers first regular season game in Yankee Stadium has been postponed due to rain. The game was called about 30 minutes prior to the first pitch. The LA Times Dylan Hernandez tweeted

Wednesday’s doubleheader will be the Dodgers’ first since they played 2 in Baltimore back on April 20th. The Dodgers lost both of those games 7-5 and 6-1. Like he will tomorrow, Hyun Jin Ryu started the first game of the doubleheader against Baltimore. Paco Rodriguez, not Ryu, got the loss. But Josh Beckett lost in Game 2 against the Orioles. The Dodgers game 2 probable starter Wednesday Chris Capuano is expected to be activated from the DL. In his last start prior to being placed on the 15 day DL, Capuano gave up 3 runs while walking 4 in a loss to the Angels.

After Don Mattingly spent 12 years with the Yankees as a player and another 4 as a hitting and bench coach with Joe Torre, Donnie B is returning to the Bronx. He was penciled in as the successor to Torre, but George Steinbrenner‘s volatile decision making was always more likely to finally overthrow Joe Torre’s calmness in success. Don Mattinly is now a manager, and one who is likely to be well recieved when he is introduded Wednesday afternoon.

Donnie B has an extra 24 hours to figure out how to improve the Dodger’s chances. That should include changing the penciled in DH prior to the rainout, Jerry Hairston. And he shouldn’t change it to Juan Uribe.  Move Hanley Ramirez to DH, Nick Punto to shortstop, and Hairston to left.
