The Los Angeles Dodgers start their best of 7 game series agains the St. Louis Cardinals Friday. Zack Greinke will take the hill versus the NL Central Winners, who will counter with Joe Kelly. The series opens in St. Louis at 5:30pm PST on TBS.
The NLCS subscribes to the 2-3-2 format where the first two, and if necessary, the last two games are played in the home ball park of the team with homefield advantage. St. Louis had the best record in the National League this season. Since the NLCS was expanded to a 7 game series in 1985, they have always used a 2-3-2 format.
The 2-3-2 format should play in the Dodgers advantage. Both Zack Greinke and Clayton Kershaw will take the mound in St. Louis to start the series. The Dodgers don’t just have an excellent chance to steal a game on the road, but to come back with 2 wins. Then the Dodgers would much rather take their chances at home with a combo of Ryu, Nolasco, or Capuano if necessary compared to on the road.
Here is the full schedule for the NLCS. All games are televised nationally on TBS. Radio 570AM. You can also find Dodgers tickets for home Games 3, 4, and 5 from Barry’s Ticket Service.
