Metta World Peace and Kobe Bryant were teammates for four years. In that four years the Lakers won one championship with Ron Artest. A year before that we remember Artest when up to Kobe’s face and had some words for him. What was said was uncertain. The Lakers parted ways with World Peace last summer, using the amnesty provision. Metta was fan favorite. Laker fans will probably remember as the person that elbowed James Harden. After the provision World Peace signed with the New York Knicks in the off-season.
Earlier this week, World Peace talked with the New York Daily News about quite a few different topics, including Kobe Bryant. Metta said he had plenty of battles with Kobe during Lakers practices and once called out the five-time NBA champion according to Frank Isola:
“There were times when me and Kobe (Bryant) would be yelling at each other,” Metta said. “I once told the greatest player ever, ‘You suck.’ Our practices got intense and the next day we’d go out and take it out on the other team.”
Metta is one crazy dude, says and does whatever is on his mind. Remember when Metta had a crazy hair due? We all know that Kobe is a fierce competitor so this might have just added fuel to his competitiveness. This happend around 2010 the year that the Lakers won back to back championships. Both players were extremely competitive and apparently motivate.
