Kobe: "Obama Could Start For The Lakers"

In an interview with Dan Patrick on “The Dan Patrick Show” this morning Kobe Bryant bluntly stated President Barack Obama could start for the Los Angeles Lakers this season.

While the President is, by all accounts, a very decent basketball players, there is no other way to construe this quote than to say that Kobe was taking a shot at the players currently on the Lakers roster. Kobe tried to veil the shot. Take a look at the full quote via the Washington Post.

Bryant also gave Obama another compliment — sort of — when Patrick asked if Obama could make his team, the Lakers. ”Yes,” said Bryant, who said he was driving down the 405 freeway in Los Angeles and would otherwise be listening to “Magna Carta” by Jay-Z. “It’s more of a sign of respect of the skill that the president possesses.” – Washington Post

Kobe did indeed try to cover up the fact that he was taking a shot at his teammates; however, he’s not fooling me. You know what? It’s classic Kobe and I absolutely love it. He’s salty and he has been over the past couple of weeks. Salty Kobe is a determined Kobe, which is great news for Laker Nation.

It was just last week that Nick Young, the Lakers guard who has been out for over a month due to injury, revealed some of Kobe’s trash talk within the locker room.

Kobe has been talking a lot recently after a season in which he really hadn’t said very much. However, when Kobe talks he tends to make headlines and today is no different. We can chalk this up to Kobe being Kobe and get a good laugh at it. But secretly we know it’s true. Barack Obama could probably start for this version of the Lakers. I mean, not really. But it’s funny to think about. Anyways, keep dishing these quotes out Kobe. Stay salty!

Enough is enough. He has sucked them dry for 2 years and produced nothing. His Nash trade demand will go down in history as one of the worst Laker trades in history. He drove Shaq out. He drove Howard out. He drove Malone out.

Heck his agent quit him. His parents hate him. He sued his mother. He will ruin any team he is on.

Get a second round pick for him and consider yourself lucky to be ride of the jerk.
