Tuesday represents the most important day in of the Los Angeles Lakers season.
On Tuesday in New Jersey, the NBA will conduct the NBA Draft Lottery and the Lakers currently have the 6th most ping pong balls. What the Lakers are hoping for, along with their fans, is a top-3 pick that would secure them the services of Andrew Wiggins, Jabari Parker, or Joel Embiid.
Here are the current odds for the Lakers:
1st – 6.3%
2nd – 7.1%
3rd – 8.1%
6th – 43.9%
7th – 30.5%
8th – 4%
9th – 0.1%
What this means is that the Lakers have a 21.5% chance of getting a top-3 pick.
The Lakers will be sending James Worthy to represent them in the draft lottery. Worthy was the last #1 overall selection by the Los Angeles Lakers and the team is hoping that he delivers them a little bit of luck on Tuesday. More than ever, the Lakers need to be more lucky than good.
The last time the Lakers selected in the lottery, in 2005, they selected Center Andrew Bynum with the 10th overall pick.
