Finally some good news out of Clipperland.
Today the NBA announced the first and second All-Defense teams and once again Clippers guard Chris Paul earned first team honors. This should come as no shock as Chris Paul is one of the finest defenders in the NBA and has now been named first team All-Defense four times in his career.
Paul’s 4th time on the team leaves him in rarified air. Paul is now tied with Jason Kidd at 4 and only trails Gary Payton (9), Walt Frazier (7), and Dennis Johnson (6) the all-time list for point guards. This is Paul’s third consecutive first team All-Defense award.
Paul has led the NBA in steals in five of his nine NBA seasons, while he finished in the top-3 two other times. He is the only Los Angeles Clipper to ever be named to the NBA’s first team All-Defense.
Here is the complete first and second teams:
Chris Paul (LAC)
Paul George (IND)
Andre Iguodala (GSW)
Serge Ibaka (OKC)
Joakim Noah (CHI)
Patrick Beverly (HOU)
Kawhi Leonard (SA)
Jimmy Butler (CHI)
LeBron James (MIA)
Roy Hibbert (IND)
