The Los Angeles Lakers have officially signed guard Jordan Clarkson, the 46th pick in the 2014 NBA Draft. Clarkson’s rights were acquired from the Washington Wizards on draft night.

Clarkson, who is 6’5″, averaged 17.5 points, 3.8 rebounds, and 3.4 assists at the University of Missouri during the 2013-14 season. He had spent his first two years in college playing for the University of Tulsa where he was named First Team All-Conference USA in 2012 and named to the All-Freshman team in 2011. Clarkson was named Second Team All-SEC in 2014 by SEC coaches. He left the Tigers after his only season with the school.

During the 2014 NBA Summer League in Las Vegas, Clarkson played for the Lakers teams and led the team in scoring, 15.8 points per game, and rebounding, 5.0 rebounds per game. He shot 42.1% from behind the arc (8-19) in five games. His best game was his debut against the Toronto Raptors, where he had 21 points, 4 rebounds, 3 assists, and 2 steals.

Clarkson will likely come of the bench as the third point guard for the Lakers this season. He will be playing behind Jeremy Lin and Steve Nash, though given Nash’s injury history and age, Clarkson will likely play a big in the Lakers second unit.
