There is always one positive to hitting rock bottom – there’s nowhere to go but up.

After last season’s soul-crushing loss to the Houston Rockets, it appeared the Clippers had reached their greatest possible depth. That was until DeAndre Jordan announced his intentions of returning home to Texas to join Western Conference foe – the Dallas Mavericks.

It appeared to be the blow that would be the last nail in the coffin to the glory days of Lob City.

But just when all hope was lost a new headline emerged. DeAndre Jordan will remain in LA.

That was the second greatest win in the history of the franchise. Game seven against San Antonio won’t be eclipsed until the Clippers at least win a conference championship.

For a franchise that has perpetually let talent slip away, this was an important step forward.

Keeping Jordan is an important component to the Clippers success this season, but they’ll need contributions from a variety of different sources if they expect to be contenders in the West.

Here are five things to watch for if the Clippers expect to find success in the 2015-16 season.
