According to the article posted by Lakers Nation on Twitter, rumors have spread about the Lakers trading their four veteran players before the trade deadline.

The four players in the talks are Roy Hibbert, Brandon Bass, Lou Williams, and Nick Young.

The Lakers acquired three of these four players in the summer except for Young,

They acquired them to bring veteran leadership, experience to the team, to help mentor the young team, to work together with the young team and build up the young players, and the veterans as well.

Kobe Bryant’s injuries and the lack of time to practice and get to know each other has shown on the court this year.

Chemistry takes time.

The Lakers are focused on rebuilding, and everyone understands that.

Maybe we need to focus from the perspective of the present and not the future.

What they need to do now is trust themselves first, then trust each other, trust the coaches, trust the management and the organization, and then they need to believe they can accomplish anything.

Most importantly they need to trust their plan and the process.

After bringing in these players to play alongside Kobe and the young players from the draft, to win games, they want to trade the veterans they acquired through trades.

This is a paradox for the organization.

They want to trade the veterans they brought in to help them win games, and make the playoffs.

Understandably they think they haven’t produced much this season; given they have only won nine games.

Bryant wants to play; we all know that.

Here is the ironic part, though. The team without Kobe on the floor as of lately seem to be gelling much better than when he is on the floor.

They seem to play better basketball when isn’t on the court with them.

  • Their are time where for a few plays he is able to keep up with them and help them like when they almost beat the Thunder at home.

I am not saying Kobe is bad, he is an obvious Hall-of-Famer, the player of this past era.

It is just when he is on the court and the young players are on a fast break they are speedsters and he can’t keep up or make the plays as he use to.

He isn’t the same Kobe he was back then.

It is kind of similar to Peyton Manning in football.

As they get older they have had to change their style of play ,to help them and the team so they do not injure themselves badly again.

He just isn’t able to keep up with them for a full game anymore.

Basketball is a young man’s sport.

For example, when Kobe was young he helped bring 5 championships to the Lakers organization.

With that being said, the organization needs to keep all their young players no matter what.

The young players can help bring a championship or more back to the organization and the city.

The veterans that were acquired all have playoff experience with their previous teams (Bass – DAL/BOS, Williams – TOR, and Hibbert -IND).

If they are going to trade anyone, I can understand getting rid of Nick Young because he hasn’t been doing much this season and maybe that is because he wants out of L.A.

They need to keep Lou most definitely and lock him before the trade deadline, because he is a player everyone int he league likes to play with because he finds ways to score.

In the beginning of the season I would have said trade Bass, but as of lately when given a chance he has been producing more and showing everyone he wants to stay and win games.

Hibbert has been inconsistent this whole season.

There are times when he produces nothing at all and then their are times where he looks like his old self with the Pacers.

Releasing or trading him and Young would help with Cap Space, the organization would be able to acquire other young or veteran young players and  all stars as Lou ,to play alongside the young guns on the Lakers to build a championship team.

Therefore the Lakers need to stick to their original blueprint plan that was in place when they brought in the veterans and not get rid of them halfway through the season.

Trading or releasing them would mess up the teams chemistry and togetherness they have been building this season.

When you rebuild you may be good or you may be bad.

    Rebuilding is a process.

With the organization waiving or trading these players, it would hurt the current players on the team and the team would have to start from scratch all over again.

The organization needs to trust their plan, believe, be patient and everything will come into fruition by the end of the year.

They need to trust the process,  let it play out before they make moves for the team whether they are good or bad moves.

They may not be great next year, but they will better than this season.

They will be a young team that likes to play fast and control the tempo.

They will have had this whole season to get to know each other and how each other plays and will have chemistry by the end of he season to be successful next year.

Therefore if the organization decides to trade anyone they should trade the two most inconsistent players on the team in Hibbert and Young.

Don’t change the process, stick to it and trust it.

    Trust the process.
