Final. 111. 20. 120. 156

Kobe Bryant said farewell to Cleveland, and the Lakers said good bye to another chance at a big road win.

It just goes hand in hand, doesn’t it?

Kobe Bryant‘s last game in Cleveland against LeBron James and company didn’t go well at all, really, for Los Angeles.

After the first quarter alone, the Lakers already had to stare down a double-digit deficit — one that grew from ten points to 17 by halftime.

Not to mention the 19 points swing after three quarters.

With the fourth quarter being the only showing of a sense of decency, the Lakers were forced to deal with another big loss as the team continues to spiral downward en route to kissing Kobe Bryant good bye.

Lou Williams led the team in scoring this night with 28, while Jordan Clarkson and Kobe Bryant finished with 22 and 17 points, respectively.

Also worthy to note that Julius Randle only had seven points and eight rebounds in just shy of 30 minutes on the floor.

D’Angelo Russell continued his effort in coming off of the bench, this time dropping 15 points, two rebounds, and three assists.

  • Players like Metta World Peace, Tarik Black, and Roy Hibbert all play with the same adjective most of us would use to describe the team this season — uninspired.

After making big talk of an NBA comeback, Metta World Peace has literally done nothing of mention for the team and Roy Hibbert along with Tarik Black are basically in the same boat.

Don’t get me started on Nick Young.

For Cleveland, Kevin Love had a quieter night with just eight points and six rebounds, while Kyrie Irving, LeBron James, and Tristan Thompson handled the scoring.

Irving led the Cavs with 35 points, three rebounds and seven assists.

James and Thompson combined for 44 points, while they got a combined 35 from J.R. Smith and the rest of the bench.

To the surprise of some, Cleveland seems to be doing just fine after their sudden break up with former head coach David Blatt.

They’ve maintained the top spot in the Eastern Conference standings thus far, and don’t look ready to give that away to the up-and-coming Toronto Raptors just yet.

Other teams like the Boston Celtics are emerging as potential threats to the Cavaliers come playoff time, but only time will tell if that theory will ever hold water.

Bottom Line: Lakers are in the shark tank.

Last season, Cleveland seemed to have a lot of issues with truly believing in and embracing themselves, with their biggest flaws being exposed in the NBA Finals by the fearless Golden State Warriors.

As the league prepares to celebrate the All-Star break in Toronto, the Lakers will have their minds also on their next big games down the last half of the season.
