20. Final. 100. 211. 107

The Lakers came up big at home in a tight, hard fought clash with the Memphis Grizzlies.

As the team continues dealing with off-the-court issues involving Jordan Clarkson and Nick Young, Tuesday night’s difficult win at home couldn’t have come at a better time, snapping a four-game losing streak.

To add to that, we are all preparing to see Kobe Bryant‘s final stretch, as his games are numbered to no more than a dozen after tonight.

One of the more noticeable attributes from tonight’s game is the fact that the team was able to stay close to Memphis until being able to just pull away in the fourth quarter.

After ending the first frame in a tie and going into halftime up just one point, Los Angeles made sure to make the most of their opportunities down the stretch as they attempted to play spoiler.

Just 3.5 games separate the Memphis Grizzlies from the third-place Los Angeles Clippers in the Western Conference playoff picture; something a win over the Lakers would’ve made more complicated as things begin to wind down.

It’ll come between Golden State and San Antonio for the top spot in the conference, but after that, there’s no telling what could happen.

As good as the Clippers have been this season, the Grizzlies haven’t let themselves fall off the map too quickly — but that doesn’t mean the Lakers were going to take their visit lightly.

Instead, Los Angeles showed Memphis some tough love in a game that could mean the world to the Clippers if they can stick together and do their part in the last few games of the season.

  • At the center of attention during this game was Jordan Clarkson, who exploded out of the gate for 22 points, five rebounds, and one assist on the evening.

Scoring wise for the Lakers, three of the other four starters struck double digits — all except Roy Hibbert, to no surprise.

Kobe Bryant, Julius Randle, and D’Angelo Russell put up 20, 13, and 11, respectively to help get their team where they need to be.

For the visiting Grizzlies, Tony Allen had the biggest night, throwing down 27 points, four rebounds, and five assists.

Lately, Brandon Bass has been the biggest surprise from within the Lakers lineup, with that trend continuing after his 18 point outing against Memphis.

The Grizzlies travel to San Antonio for a battle with the Spurs on Friday, while Los Angeles goes to Phoenix for a game against the Suns on Wednesday.
