Kevin Love UCLA Alum and forward of the Cleveland Cavaliers checked himself out of Game 2 of the NBA Finals, because of an elbow to the head by the Warriors Harrison Barnes.

The two were going for a rebound when the incident occurred.

Kevin Love was down on the ground in a pain for awhile before he got up.

He did not seem to have symptoms of a concussion and came back after halftime.

Therefore he did not have to go through NBA concussion protocol.

Then during the 3rd quarter he checked himself out of the game and left the bench to the locker room.

Kevin Love and Kyrie Irving are suppose to be the difference makers in this series as they did not play or were limited in last years NBA Finals.

Love is what everyone likes to call a hybrid power forward.

All this means is that his game he is known for is his post-up moves and now he can shoot threes which makes him versatile.

When a UCLA  Bruin he usually always played in the post and could not shoot three pointers.

Since his first few years in the NBA with the Timberwolves he worked on his game.

The Cavaliers lost game two of the NBA Finals by 33 points.

Kevin Love was supposed to be the X-factor in this series.

Is Love the reason the Cavaliers were blown out in game 2 of the Finals?

Yes he came back in the fourth quarter, but he was not the same and he finished with 5 points.

His range is/was suppose to cause the Warriors trouble.

The problem is head coach Tyronn Lue is not playing him the way he should be.

He should be playing him in the post, instead he was letting him take three-pointers and just relax there.

This is the Finals there is no relaxing, it is a battle until the finish.

If the Cavaliers are going to attempt three-pointers, before they take them they need to make they have their teammates in the post ready to box-out for the rebound.

Grabbing the offensive rebounds will lead to second chance points.

The Cavaliers have been decent with earning second chance points.

If they are going to have a chance to win games 3 and 4 at home, they are going to need to rebound on the offensive glass to earn more second chance points.

If they can get more second chance points and shut down the Warriors they will be able to win.

The Warriors have proven they are beatable, they have just been giving the Cavaliers matchup problems.

There is no predicting the future and since Love did not finish the game strongly there is no telling what difference he could have made if not injured.

They may have lost their first game but Love still had a double-double in that game and the big three played well together.

Compared to game 2 where they didn’t score much they scored half of what they scored combined together in the first game.

Kevin Love helps the Cavaliers in the post with rebounds on both ends of the courts.

Tristan Thompson and him working together should be a dominating force, but the Warriors have been able to out rebound them.

Lets not forget Love left game 2 in the third quarter.

Reality all the Cavaliers need to play better and play as a team and not individually.

Just Imagine what could have been if not injured.
