With the 2016 MLB trade deadline about a week away, the latest Dodgers rumors are sure to catch your attention.

This season has provided, at best, more than enough mixed emotions to go around for Dodgers fans.

While the team continues to fight for their life in the NL West, the delayed return and possible deactivation of Clayton Kershaw doesn’t exactly get many hopes up.

But that’s why we have the trade deadline right?

To spice things up, CBS Sports is reporting that 19-year old Dodgers pitching prospect Julio Urias is now being involved in potential trade talks with the Chicago White Sox.

In return for Urias, among other assets, the Dodgers might be looking to acquire Chris Sale.

One of the reasons Sale could be on the market despite being a strong starter is the clearly awkward aftermath of a clubhouse incident involving him and one of the White Sox uniforms.

Chicago would have to be sure the Dodgers aren’t trying to sell them short, but the sad part of it all is that Los Angeles has gotten to a point where they’re desperate for another superstar pitcher, for lack of a better word.

During nine starting opportunities for the Dodgers this season, Urias has provided a 4.69 ERA and looks to need a little more development before being lethal at the next level.

On the flip side, Chris Sale holds a 14-3 record along with a 3.18 ERA according to a report from ESPN on the situation.

ESPN also outlines in their report that Chicago hasn’t officially put Sale on the table, but the speculation almost can’t be helped.

Los Angeles has however managed to keep pace in their division while distractions continue to provide more than a show off the field.

The Dodgers are just 2.5 games back of the San Francisco Giants, and putting someone like Chris Sale in their pitching rotation could really help them keep pace.

Not to mention the danger they’d pose to other teams once Kershaw returns to full health.

It was widely thought that the absence of fellow pitching ace Zack Greinke would hurt the Dodgers rotation dramatically — that so far hasn’t clearly been the case, as the root of the team’s issues can be found elsewhere.

Bringing in Chris Sale would also mean that the Dodgers’ front office is ready to convince fans that they don’t want to just be mediocre anymore.

They appear to be done with being content, and finalizing terms with Chicago for Chris Sale makes a lot of sense for the team moving forward.
