The Clippers, in the midst of a tailspin where they have lost five of seven games, will try to right the ship this weekend against the New Orleans Pelicans.

The Los Angeles Clippers will try to reverse a two-game home losing streak Saturday night (7:30pm PST) at Staples Center vs. the New Orleans Pelicans. They last matched up against the Pelicans on December 2nd, winning by 18 points.

The Pelicans are 7-13 on the season and could provide the antidote with all that ails the Clippers right now. After starting the season 14-2, the Clippers have dropped five of their last seven contests.

In the matchup last week, Blake Griffin had 27 points and 10 rebounds, Jamal Crawford netted 21 points, and Chris Paul tallied 17 points with 13 assists. It was a rare bright spot for a team mired in some turmoil, as veteran Marreese Speights explained after the team’s dispiriting loss to the Warriors on Wednesday night:

In addition to the self-immolation, the Clippers are reeling from the fine levied against Head Coach Doc Rivers for verbal abuse toward the officials.

Here’s a look at two key match ups for tonight’s game.
