Another Julius Randle triple double got the Lakers back in the win column.

Julius Randle and his teammates moved the ball around collectively earning a team victory.

The Los Angeles Lakers finally get their first victory of the new year. Everyone played well in tonights victory.

Los Angeles didn’t just win this game because of Randle’s numbers; they won the game because as team they were playing good — everyone was rolling.

Even in their victory their is still room for improvement. No one is perfect and the Lakers did make mistakes.

For example, as a team at the start of the game they struggled from the charity stripe. They were 0-4 from the free throw line, until Jordan Clarkson made the first free throw.

Speaking of free shots, as a team they didn’t make it to the line as much as the Grizzlies did. Although they had less attempts from the line (28) than the Grizzlies (35), they still won the game.

Memphis was nearly perfect from the line making 32 free throws compared to the Lakers 15 made free throws.

However, the Lakers were excellent from everywhere else which includes, the three-point line, the field, and assists.

Los Angeles was 17-33 from three-point line, two three-pointers shy of their in game record of most threes made.

From the field they were 42-82 off of 34 assists.

Julius Randle posting numbers of 19 points, 14 rebounds, and 11 assists earned him his 3rd career triple-double. Everyone benefitted from Julius Randle and his performance.

Randle had his first child in December and that helped him place everything in perspective. Having his first child helped him play lights out.

Six Lakers players were in double figures. Thomas Robinson was the only Laker who wasn’t just in double figures, but also did not score. However he was able to record 1 assist.

Tonight at the Staples Center it was a Mountain Dew Fat Head giveaway of Julius Randle. Randle had a monster performance in which his teammates reaped the benefits as well.

Julius Randle displaying this performance is in response to accepting the challenge coach Luke Walton challenged him with.
