The Washington Wizards have expressed interest in Lou Williams.

More Lakers rumors have surfaced and Lou Williams could land Washington D.C. before the trade deadline. LA executives have been meeting during the All-Star weekend to discuss the future of the franchise.

They discussed if they are going to trade players or not. Also, they are going to see if they will sign free agents. Then the question is who will the Lakers receive in return?

They will most likely receive a future draft pick along with one of the Wizards bench player such as Trey Burke, Kelly Oubre Jr., or Markeef Morris. The Wizards would receive a three-point specialist, while the Lakers would receive players who help the team in the future.

Lou Williams would add to the Wizards back court with his abilities from downtown. He could give them a playoff push with his knack for drawing fouls on almost all of his shot attempts.

Los Angeles would be losing a skilled veteran, yet they would be acquiring young players developing into their prime. Young players in their prime working together making chemistry and developing is what the Lakers need. Los Angeles needs young players in their prime for the Lakers franchise, if they want to be a dynasty for years to come.

Lou Williams is averaging 18.6 points per game and is .385% from the arc. Additionally, from the field he is shooting .444% all in just about 24 minutes per game. His game play has been one of the most consistent on the Lakers this season.

Los Angeles would be giving away one of their best players. Therefore the question remains are they preparing for now or for the future?

If they are preparing for the future then trading Lou Williams to the Wizards isn’t a bad idea. The Lakers would receiver players still developing during their prime.
