Lakers rumors: Is D’Angelo Russell on the path to being a superstar?

Questions remain in Los Angeles, with no Lakers rumors bigger than the development of D’Angelo Russell.

Alright, so we’ve endured another season of the rebuild. With a young core well on its way to developing overall, the focus now shifts to the centerpiece.

D’Angelo Russell was drafted in 2015 out of Ohio State. Since then, it’s up for debate as to whether or not he’s played well enough to be a second overall pick.

Regardless of where you might stand on that issue, the best argument lies in the numbers. First, we’ll look at how he compares to other top point guards in his draft class. Then, a comparison of his game at this point in his career to current stars.

And finally, an attempt to answer what he and the team should do moving forward.
