The boys in blue have been rejuvenated.

The Dodgers’ start to the season has got many to wonder if they could make the playoffs for a fifth consecutive year.

The Dodgers currently sit 3rd in the NL West behind two of the hottest teams in MLB.

More from Los Angeles Dodgers

A key factor to the rough start of the season is the injuries that have hit the Dodgers’ locker room.

The injuries to Joc Pederson and Franklin Gutierrez led the Dodgers on Tuesday to call up their highly rated prospect Cody Bellinger to play left field and add more depth.

Bellinger opened his first game with 1 H, 1 BB and 1 IBB against the Giants, ending the final two games of the series with 1 BB and 5 SO.

As Bellinger was nowhere to be found for the Giants 3-game series.

Bellinger has picked it up against the Phillies with 1 BB, 2 singles and 2 HR in 7 at-bats.

The Dodgers also called up Julio Urias on Thursday to help the agonizing starting rotation.

As the starting pitching outside of Clayton Kershaw and Brandon McCarthy has been torturous to watch.

Urias started his 2017 Dodgers campaign with a superb outing against the Giants on Thursday, allowing only 1 R, 4 H, 1 BB, 1 IBB and 4 SO in his 5.2 IP.

Now, whether you believe the call-ups have changed the mood in the Dodgers locker room or not?

The boys in blue have won 4 out of their last 5 games and has sparked what Dodgers fans have been accustomed to watching.

Winning!

If the Dodgers continue to win and ride the momentum of the young guns.

Could be the reasons that Urias and Bellinger stay with the team for the rest of the season.

Also, Urias will stay in the starting rotation along as the rest of the rotation struggles and injuries continue.

No matter what happens though. Urias has earned and shown that Dave Roberts must keep him in the starting rotation for the rest of the season.

Same goes for Bellinger. If Bellinger continues to hit and whoa on the big stage.

Finally, Roberts will have no choice but to eat his words and keep Bellinger in the starting lineup.
