Julius Randle’s name is once again the topic of discussion in the latest Lakers rumors.

With the 2017 NBA Draft fast approaching you would think that the Lakers rumors around the established stars would fade. Rumors and reports are swirling that the Lakers may be open to trade power forward Julius Randle. Randle’s name has been in trade discussions before, and quite frankly, seems to be the most likely to get traded.

That is nothing against Randle, and if we are being honest, the Lakers would probably be better off keeping the dynamic power forward. Randle is a double-double machine and has proven to be the emotional leader of this team. Unless the Lakers get a huge return for the forward then it seems unwise that they should trade him.

However, that double-double upside is what makes Randle so easy to trade. As of now, Randle may be the best producer between himself, D’Angelo Russell, and Brandon Ingram. This makes Randle an easier target for playoff teams to inquire about, not only will he get better, but he is already solid now.

Plus, Ingram and Russell have much higher ceilings. While Randle is the better player now, Ingram and Russell have superstar potential, which is why the Lakers deem Ingram as untouchable. Russell has a shot to go, but if it were to be anyone, I would bet that the first to go is Randle.

All of this has amounted to Randle being the latest target of trade scenarios within the Lakers rumors. While some fans would hate to see him go, and I can see why the reality is it may be time to say goodbye. Therefore, what exactly could we expect the Lakers to get for Julius Randle via trade?
