I joined Fansided for two important reasons: (1): I enjoy participator sports. (2): I enjoy creative writing. My favorite sport is basketball, followed by football, track and field, sports-fishing and mountain biking. I have run more than a few marathons, biked thousands of miles and caught just about every type of game fish on the pacific coast. But you probably won't read much about any of that from here. Although I was never really good at hoops, I enjoy hoops talk. So as a long-time L. A. Clippers fan, yup. I'm on the bandwagon. Out there in the front rowww... By the way, whether you’ve read any of my posts or not, I need to state this disclaimer: 'Sometimes-I-am-a-confusing-ass-person-to-understand...' But after one or two reads, it starts to get clearer. I want to write about sports in a way that stimulates the sports intellect in my readers. I want my musings to be entertaining, provocative, challenging, and sometimes audacious. So feel free to read. Afterwards, (whether you liked it or not), feel free to comment, share it, tweet it, and/or retweet it. Enjoy the musings.
We aren't called FanSided for nothing. Our network of sports, entertainment and lifestyle sites are powered by fans that want to cover their passions! Whether you are just looking to get your start in online media or you want to contribute to your favorite site as a hobby, FanSided wants to hear from you.
Our work is regularly featured on SI.com and Bleacher Report and many FanSided writers have gone on to work full-time in online media. FanSided hired over ten of its own writers in 2013 and there are currently FanSided alums working at other major media outlets and with professional sports teams.
FanSided was born in 2007, when two brothers felt that their favorite team, the Kansas City Chiefs, was being under-covered by the mainstream media. Taking matters into their own hands, they launched Arrowhead Addict, a move that would spawn a network of over 290 fan-powered unique sports and entertainment sites dedicated to team-specific, sport-specific, genre-specific, and fanbase-specific coverage.
From sports, movies and TV to lifestyle and tech, FanSided has you covered.
