Jonathan Papelbon apparently doesn’t like Manny Ramirez

To be honest, I’ve never really liked Red Sox closer Jonathan Papelbon all that much. First off, he beat my Angels in the playoffs, which is always a way to put you on my “wanted” list. Second, he has always come across and an arrogant dude just by listening to his quotes in the newspapers and watching his “in your face” post-game celebrations. Well, his latest comments in the April issue of Esquire don’t help to sever my feelings toward Papelbon, and I really don’t think they’ll help him get invited to Manny Ramirez’s birthday bash either:

"“[Manny] was on a different train! And you saw what happened with that. We got rid of him, and we moved on without him,” said Papelbon.“So Manny was tough for us,” Papelbon added. “You have somebody like him, you know at any point in the ballgame, he can dictate the outcome of the game. And for him not to be on the same page as the rest of the team was a killer, man! It just takes one guy to bring an entire team down, and that’s exactly what was happening.”"

Okay, we already know Manny pouted in Boston. That was 9 months ago. Give it up Red Sox nation.
