#3: California Golden Bears (4th seed)
When analyzing a conference tournament and looking for a potential you look for three things: overall talent, winning streaks, and which team has desperation on its side. The Bears fall into the desperation category. According to ESPN’s Joe Lunardi, the dean of Bracketology, the Bears are the FIRST team out of the NCAA tournament right now. However, if Cal can win a couple of games in the conference tournament, which would mean taking down Colorado and Arizona, they will ensure themselves a spot in the dance. The Bears have enough talent to compete with any team in the Pac 12, including Arizona. Don’t be surprised if Cal is holding the trophy come Saturday.
