Steve Cohen is the founder of SAC Capital, based in Connecticut, and is rumored to have a net worth of $9.3B. In 2012 he made a substantial bid to acquire the Dodgers along with NBA and MLB super agent Arn Tellem. One would expect that the Clippers represent and equally enticing opportunity for that group and they will probably end up bidding on the team when it goes to auction.
While Cohen doesn’t have the name recognition in Los Angeles, he is a very wealthy man with a ton of connections. He could easily form a power group, along with Tellem, that could make an enormous offer and send all of the other competitors packing.
