Jeff Van Gundy
Another candidate whom Lakers management is very high on. Jeff Van Gundy hasn’t coached in the NBA since 06-07 with the Houston Rockets; however, he has been one of the loudest voices in the NBA ever since. JVG’s take on the NBA is well known from his time as a broadcaster along side Mike Breen on ESPN.
If you remember JVG as a coach, you will know that he is one of the most ferocious competitors in the league and has had success with both the Rockets and the New York Knicks; however, his playoff record isn’t tremendous. Van Gundy seems content on the sidelines for now, but one call from the Lakers may change all of that.
