Tom Thibodeau
The Lakers have expressed an interest in Tom Thibodeau of the Chicago Bulls, who were recently eliminated from the playoffs by the Washington Wizards, and will likely reach out to get permission for an interview.
"The Lakers also plan to reach out to the Chicago Bulls for permission to interview coach Tom Thibodeau, a source told ESPNLosAngeles.com’s Dave McMenamin."
Thibodeau is one of the best coaches in the NBA right now and gets the most out of his players. Sometimes that’s a good thing, other times it’s a problem. Thibs in notorious for playing his stars for entire games without rest and has been known to run some of them into the ground. That being said, he is one of the best defensive coaches in the NBA and there is little doubt that players will want to play for him regardless of where he goes.
Thibodeau is still under contract with the Chicago Bulls, but the rift between himself and management is reportedly serious and he may ask out if the right opportunity comes along. Kobe Bryant loves Thibideau. If Kobe loves him, that means the Lakers love him.
