Dee Gordon had a productive night, doing what he does best for the Dodgers.
Fourth inning: Gordon enters the game as a pinch-runner in the top of the fourth inning when Chris Sale hits Chase Utley with a pitch. After playing a little cat and mouse with Sale, sizing up for a steal, Gordon easily scores from first on Jonathan Lucroy’s second double of the night. Gordon’s run ties the game at 3-3.
Sixth inning: With one out and Aramis Ramirez on second, Gordon hits a grounder up the middle towards Houston second baseman Jose Altuve. Altuve flashes some leather, scooping it backhand and beating Gordon with a bouncing throw to Jose Abreu for the second out.
With a bit of baseball revenge porn, Gordon makes his own Sportscenter Top 10 play at second base. Ranging to his left, Gordon dives to stop Michael Brantley’s grounder on the grass and nearly throws wide of first baseman Freddie Freeman. Freeman makes the catch in full-on side splits.
