Reasons Why They Will Win: Yea, this isn’t in the cards for Cal. Not now. Not in the near future….unless Sonny Dykes turns into Chip Kelly or something. They have a chance to take another step forward this season and QB Jared Goff is a strong sophomore who could have a breakout season. But other than that, they need seriously talent and fast if they’re going to compete regularly in the Pac-12.

Reasons Why They Won’t Win: Talent. Coaching. Schedule. You name it. Cal isn’t the same program as it used to be. Just remember, Cal was ranked #3 in the country in 2009. It all changed when Oregon destroyed them 42-3 in Eugene. That was the beginning of the rebuild in Berkeley. They’re still years away from even sniffing that point again. Oh, they also have to play Washington, UCLA, Oregon, Oregon State, USC, and Stanford in consecutive weeks. It’s going to be a LONG year.

Best Case Record: 5-7

Worst Case Record: 2-10
