Remember last season when a broken down Lakers roster took down the Clippers in the season opener by the score of 116-103 and people thought the Lakers, sans Kobe Bryant, were still for real? Those were the days.

The Lakers, Clippers rivalry is more real now than it ever has before, mostly because the roles have reversed. The Lakers still own the town, but the Clippers are the talk of the town. With new owner Steve Ballmer in tow, the Clippers may also have the best organization for the future. I think I’m going to be sick.

Every time the Lakers and Clippers meet at Staples Center you can bet that it’s going to be intense. The second game of the season for both teams will be no different. Expect this one to get dirty early.
