Byron Scott is without a doubt going to implement the “Princeton Offense” into the Lakers culture next season. If Monroe comes, he could eventually excel in that system given all the opportunities that a big man will see. The Princeton Offense is a half-court offense that creates a number of mismatches, but demands the use of a talented big man who can constantly roll to the basket and score. Monroe could see his production skyrocket under Scott’s direction, and more importantly give Monroe opportunities on the defensive end as well. He wouldn’t be as easily winded. But when the Lakers would be forced to play fast and quick, Monroe could be more of a liability than a factor. The Lakers would have to constantly pick their poison with Monroe because he is by no means quick on his feet.
