Overall
USC seemed to be taken out of this game mentally at halftime. They couldn’t believe this was happening to them. Boston College isn’t THIS good. Are they?
“I thought we played our best football early in the g “Our execution was good. But for whatever reason, we lost it. And that’s the part I have to figure out. They hit the one long run and things started to go the other direction on us.”-Steve Sarkisian
Well, not only was BC THAT good. USC was THAT bad. The team couldn’t rebound from being punched in the mouth and manhandled in the trenches early in the game. By the fourth quarter, it appeared to dawn on USC that it was in serious danger of losing this game. But, it was too late. The fight displayed midway in the 4th quarter was based on desperation.
Boston College ran for 452 yards (342 yards outside the tackles) against USC, the most against the Trojans in at least 10 seasons. #USCvsBC

The Trojans squandered a key opportunity to establish themselves among the elite in a poorly coached and played game on the road versus an unranked team. A loss like this was feared, yet not expected so soon. The Trojans could and SHOULD have found themselves on a flight to LAX as potentially the fifth-ranked team in the nation. Instead, they find themselves looking up at UCLA and wondering what on earth happened in Boston.
#USC now No. 21 in the coahes poll after the #BC loss. http://t.co/b1qeLM6jGU

As this team searches for answers, they should also search the last two games for their heart. It seems it was left behind in Palo Alto, and Boston College showed them why they should try to retrieve it immediately.
