J.J. Redick has been on fire lately. As if his three-point shooting needed any improvement, he’s knocking down his threes at a rate of 43.9 percent this season: an increase over last season’s also astonishing 39.5 percent. In addition to his perimeter shooting, Redick is also hitting on 50 percent of his two-point attempts between 10 feet and the three-point line.

In short: Redick can shoot. Redick can shoot very, very well. Redick isn’t just taking a few shots per-game either, as he attempts 12 field-goals per-game and 5.9 threes per-game, and at 16.4 points per-game, Redick’s efficient scoring may be a saving grace for the Clippers in the playoffs, as their shoddy defense will likely amplify the impact of empty offensive possessions.

While not bringing anything special to the floor defensively, Redick is a serviceable wing-defender who can stay in front of the ball-handler and close out on shooters. Though his defensive strength lies within the bounds of a strong team defense, Redick will make up for any lapses he displays in one-on-one defensive situations with his offensive prowess.
