6. No Tough Southpaws On Mayweather’s Resume

The last time Mayweather fought a southpaw was 2011 against Victor Ortiz. We all remember the WWE like finish. Mayweather knocking out and sucker punching Ortiz like a true champion as referee Joe Cortez looked away and Ortiz looking away too.

Not since Zab Judah in 2006 has Mayweather had a threatening lefty. He used the lefty Sharmba Mitchell to help set up for the Zab Judah fight and today there’s no warm up fight with a southpaw.

He fought a no name southpaw DeMarcus Corley in 2004 who he is using as a sparring partner now. Corley just to give everyone an idea how bad he is, lost 11 of his last 17 fights and is 40 years old.

The fight against Zab Judah was definitely one of Mayweather’s toughest fights. A banging war which transformed the way Mayweather fights today, turning into a conservative defensive counter puncher.
