Nelson Agholor was one of the more fascinating prospects of this year’s draft.

In classic NFL fashion Agholor was one of those players with an initial 2nd-3rd round grade who did well but not amazing at the combine –then he proceeded to inexplicably shoot up the draft boards 2 weeks before the draft.

Great for him (as an Eagles fan myself) —  I like the fit here as well.

Chip Kelly as we all know is an outstanding offensive coach and can usually get the best out of his players.

Here the Eagles needed a receiver after losing Jeremy Maclin to free agency and Agholor seems to be the type of receiver Chip likes most in his arsenal, fast sure handed and good in space.

If you watch how USC used Nelson last year there are striking similarities in how Philadelphia used its receivers last year.

Continuity is key when transitioning to the NFL from college so this will benefit Agholor a lot heading into next season. Todd McShay thinks Nelson Agholor will be the offensive rookie of the year next year. As much as I would love to see that next year let’s pump the brakes here for a minute.

With Jordan Matthews being the only real receiving threat on the outside returning, the Eagles will depend heavily on their first rounder next year. Look for him to make an impact largely as a slot receiver but Agholor will have his work cut out for him against NFL defenses.

The uncertainty at the Quarterback position will also be a challenge. I like but don’t necessarily love the fit here. Look for him to be a solid contributor to the offense next year.
