Josh Shaw went in the 4th round to the Cincinnati Bengals. It isn’t really surprising the Bengals would take a chance on a player who fell due to an off-the-field issue.

That’s what makes this a good fit for Josh Shaw. The Bengals have taken chances on players with checkered pasts in the last decade and coach Marvin Lewis has dealt very well with nearly all of them. If you don’t believe me just look at players like Adam “Pacman” Jones or Vontaze Burfict who went undrafted in 2012 the made the Pro Bowl in 2013.

Once again the key here is that Shaw will go to an established Defense and will most likely play in a nickel package and special teams.

His versatility as a player whether he is playing corner or safety will help him as well. Look for Josh to make an impact on special teams and contribute to a defense that will likely finish a top 5 defense in the league.
