The consensus men’s college basketball player of the year in 1973, Bill Walton finished off his junior year at UCLA by leading the Bruins to their seventh consecutive national title with a game for the ages.
Against the Memphis Tigers Bill Walton was almost automatic as he went 21-22 from the field shooting 95 percent and a title game record 44 points.
If you’re good enough to lead a team like the UCLA Bruins to a national title, you deserve a spot in our Top 10.
Period.
