This guy is not worth what the media is making him out to be. But I still like him as an action leadoff hitter. He’s going to hit around.280-.300.

He’s going to steal a lot of bases — look out with him swimming in the pond with Calhoun, Trout, and Pujols behind him.

You’re not going to get anything close to the kind of patience required of a leadoff man. But what he lacks in OBP, he’ll make up with his speed, and scoring runs.

His glove will help as well.

Sabermetricians should not expect anything more than a 2-3 WAR from Ben Revere. He has never had an OPS+ at or over 100.

But the players in the dugout, especially Mike Scioscia, will love his aggressive nature, and the fact that his career numbers show that aggression as being warranted.

But what does Phillies GM Ruben Amaro ask for?

If it’s a significant return, it’s an overpay.

After all, the Phillies will be rebuilding and they will have a great need to shed salary.

And salary dumps usually result in the buyer getting a lot more for their money.
