Lamar Odom was not a prototypical big man because of his athleticism and length, but those traits helped him earn a prominent role with the Lakers. At his best, Odom could be a one-man fast break at nearly seven-feet tall.
Odom was one of the most versatile players ever during the 2000’s. With the size of a big man and the game of a guard, Odom was a matchup nightmare for any Lakers opponent. His ball handling skills allowed him to run the offense when there was a mismatch or when Derek Fisher or Kobe Bryant were on the bench.
In his seven seasons with the Lakers, Odom averaged 13.7 points per game, 9.5 rebounds per game and 3.7 assists per game. With Odom on the roster, the Lakers reached the postseason six times and the NBA Finals three times, winning twice.
