The Best Upset Goes To…

All sports fans at some point have rooted for the underdog, so lets start with Best Upset.

There are three nominations: Georgia State over Baylor in the 2015 NCAA March Madness, Kansas City Royals winning the AL Pennant, and Ole Miss beating Alabama this year in College Football.

In the process of elimination, I would have to choose Georgia State over Baylor.  It is the true meaning of an upset.  Georgia State was a 14 seed, while Baylor being a 3 seed.

Not many are “surprised” when lower seeds win because that’s why it is called March Madness.  R.J. Hunter of Georgia State at the time and now of the Boston Celtics hits the game winning three pointer with 2.6 seconds left to shock the Bears.

Another note why this was a clear winner to me was R.J.’s coach/dad, Ron Hunter, fell out of his chair.  Ron Hunter had recently torn his Achilles after the Georgia State Panthers won the Sun Belt Conference Tournament.

Classic.
