Here’s How The Dodgers Fare Against Potential Playoff Teams

It’s starting to look like a really good move on Major League Baseball’s part to up the Wild Card ante to a two-team showdown instead of just one.
Because two underdogs are always better than one…right?
The Wild Card game between the Cubs and Pirates would appear to be, at least from what we know on paper, arguably one of the better playoff games we’ve seen this side of the century.
Both teams would be playing some of the league’s best baseball, but still not get the recognition of a first-place finish.
So let’s just say that the Pirates, as good as they are, fell to the Cubs.
Then, in turn, the Cubs torch the Cardinals in the NLDS.
If the Dodgers find themselves up against the Cubs with a shot at the World Series on the line, they are the only team I see putting up a harder fight than the Cardinals and the Pirates.
The reason? That fan base has been equally deprived of baseball championships.
But boy would that lead to some epic smack talk.
Joe Maddon seems to be knowing what he’s doing running Chicago’s boys in blue, and young Kris Bryant will only get better.
Maybe this could be the next big Dodger rivalry?
But heck, if the Cubs beat the Pirates, it’s a shame all they’d get out of that win is an official playoff berth and nothing more.
