LA Lakers: 5 Most Anticipated Games Of The Season
It’s been an exciting summer for the Los Angeles Lakers as they look to bounce back from their worst season in franchise history.
The highlight of the off-season was the signing of D’Angelo Russell who was the top pick of this years draft.
The young guard will have lots of expectations when he steps onto the court, not the least of which will be proving that he was worth the gamble the Lakers took in not choosing center Jahlil Okafor.
Luckily for Russell, he’ll be paired with All-Rookie teammate Jordan Clarkson in the back-court and young prospect Julius Randle who returns from an injury incurred in last years season opener.
The other big acquisitions this summer were 2015 sixth man of the year Louis Williams and Pacers import Roy Hibbert.
Last but not least, it is expected that this will be the final season of Kobe Bryant‘s magnificent career. Although he states that he has not yet made a determination, this is the final year of his current contract. The Black Mamba will be mentoring his young teammates and will be joined by familiar faces in “Swaggy P” Nick Young and Robert Sacre.
The biggest match-ups will be against league and personal rivals as the reloaded Lakers go into the 2016 season.
