The biggest Battle for Los Angeles that will take place this season will be on Christmas Day as the Lakers “host” their hallway rival Clippers.

After being swept last year by the Clips, the Lakers will look to strike back on national television when they face their rivals.  By this point in the season Byron Scott will have had enough time to work with the team and hopefully find the right combination of players to get the best production on the court.

The storied determination of Kobe Bryant will be tested as it will be his last chance to claim his building.  Added into that is the fact that he will also be facing former teammate and off-season training partner in Wesley Johnson.

Regardless of where the teams end up in the rankings, both teams will likely look to put on a show as a holiday treat for the fans.  The question will be whether the young back-court of Russell and Clarkson can overcome the thunderous dunks of Blake Griffin and the play-making of Chris Paul.

With the game taking place in the latter part of the evening, it looks like it will be a good night for all on Christmas day.
