The reloaded Spurs are already looking to be title favorites after signing power-forward LaMarcus Aldridge this summer.  They have also retained their core of Kawhi Leonard, Tim Duncan, Tony Parker, and Manu Ginobli.

Since the days of Kobe and Shaq, the Lakers and Spurs were the teams to beat in the NBA, with both organizations taking multiple championships since 2000.  In an era that was full of stars like Allen Iverson, Dwyane Wade, Dirk Nowitzki and others, it was Kobe Bryant and Tim Duncan who reigned supreme in the league.

With the league being led by fast and dynamic guards, the sun appears to be setting on the Hall-of-Fame career of Duncan who continues to defy father time in living up to his nickname “The Big Fundamental.”

If it is the end for Bryant, then it will be the last time that the Lakers star duels with Duncan and his Spurs.  When the final buzzer sounds, it will truly be the end of an era in the NBA.
