He was the anchor for the Triple Crown Line, and would play 12 seasons in a King uniform.

During that time, Marcel Dionne would put up 550 goals and 1,307 points in 921 games played. Dionne would routinely finish with an average of 40 goals and 100+ points every season.

In the 1979-80 season, he lead the league with 137 points and would win the Art Ross trophy.

The only downside to Dionne’s career was that he saw very little playoff experience.

In the 49 playoff games played, he scored 21 goals and 45 points. Six of those playoff games he played in LA. Dionne’s career in LA dwindled as he saw himself being the veteran on a team that was in the middle of a rebuilding process.

He would eventually be traded to the New York Rangers.

Dionne was only the third of six players to surpass the 700 goal mark and is currently ranked fourth as far as all-time goal scorers with 731. In the points category, he is ranked fifth all-time with 1,771.

Dionne ranks third in the NHL with eight 100+ point seasons in his career.

Only Wayne Gretzky and Mario Lemieux had more 100+ point seasons.

In 1992, Dionne was elected into the Hockey Hall of Fame and in 1998, he was ranked number 38 on the The Hockey News top 100 player list.
