He currently wears the captain logo on his jersey, and has been one of the faces of the franchise throughout the late 2000’s up to this year, and has won two Stanley Cups so far.

During the first Stanley Cup run in the 2011-12 season, there were rumors of Brown being traded, however he remained with the franchise and proved to be a huge asset in the teams championship run.

Days after the trade rumors, Brown showed much improvement, and scored a hat trick in a game against the Chicago Blackhawks, and soon after registered 23 points during a ten-game winning streak.

In the last five seasons, Brown has proven to be a consistent player averaging 26 goals and and 56 points and at the same time being one of the leagues most elite hitters.

Although, his production has become inconsistent, and he would enter scoring slumps and try to branch off and try a sniper-style play.

Fans have been criticizing Brown for not living up to the ‘captain’ type player and for being pretty much invisible on the ice at times.

Still, the 204-pounder still ranks in the top 10 because of his times of producing and being a strong physical player on the ice.

He currently still has two years left on his current contract and is making $3.175 million a year.
