He’s currently another face of the Kings franchise and has two Stanley Cup Championships under his belt so far in his young career.
Kopitar was the highest ranked player, as well as the first ever player drafted out of Slovenia.
In his rookie year in 2006, he finished fourth in the Calder Trophy voting.
In his career so far, the 25-year old forward has put up extraordinary numbers so far scoring 163 goals and 434 points in 475 games played so far as a member of the Kings.
So far, Kopitar has appeared in the All-Star game twice in 2008 and 2011, respectively, and is expected to appear in many more down the road.
He continues to climb on the list of all-time greatest players thanks to his team winning two Stanley Cups within the last four seasons.
Kopitar has been praised as one the best players in the NHL because of his performances he has put on in the postseason, in which he has tied teammate Dustin Brown with 26 points.
Kopitar has also shown his skills on an International stage representing the Slovenian national team in the junior and senior tournaments as well as the Olympic team in the 2014 winter games in Sochi.
Known for his offensive performances, Kopitar has also improved his defensive game over the past couple seasons and has become one of the best two-way players in the league.
