Dave Taylor (1977 – 1994)

He made up 1/3 of the famed “Triple Crown Line” that played together from 1979-1984.

Taylor leads all Kings players in games played with 1,111 ,and is third on the team list in goals with 431, and third in points with 1,069.

He also showed talent on the power play scoring 123 goals.  Taylor served as team captain from 1985 to 1989. He would also end up in the Kings management as a GM like his teammate, Rogie Vachon.

In the 1981 season, Taylor would score 112 points while playing on the Triple Crown Line.

Taylor’s number 18 jersey has since been retired by the Kings organization.

Taylor, along with his line mates, Marcel Dionne and Charlie Simmer, all combined for 100 points plus during the 1981 season.  Taylor would make the All-Star roster five times during his career.

In the 1997 season, Taylor was hired on as the General Manager, where he remained until 2006.

During Taylor’s time as GM, the Kings maintained a record of 290-261-74-31, which makes him the winningest GM in Kings history.
