This player played a huge role on the Ducks during their 2007 Stanley Cup run. In his career, Scott Niedermayer played over 1,000 games in the NHL during his stints with the Ducks and the New Jersey Devils.

During that time, he made five all-star appearances and won the Stanley Cup four times.

Niedermayer would win the Comm Smythe trophy as a member of the Ducks in their cup win.

Niedermayer would sign with Ducks as an unrestricted free agent in the 2005 off-season.

A main reason for him coming to the Ducks was for him to skate along with his brother, Rob. He was immediately made captain of the team and scored 63 points and was a first-team All-Star all in his first year with the Ducks.

In the 2006-07 campaign, Niedermayer would set franchise records for the Ducks in wins and points. In the playoffs that year, Niedermayer would score 11 goals and win MVP.

After his fourth Stanley Cup championship, Niedermayer would play in Anaheim for two more seasons before retiring. However, he did remain with the Ducks organization as a consultant.

He would hired on the Ducks coaching staff in the 2012-13 season as an assistant coach.

On an international stage, Niedermayer would make his Olympic debut in the 2002 games when he appeared in six games for team Canada and would help them eventually win Canada’s first gold medal in hockey in 50 years.

He also appeared in the 2010 Olympics and was the captain of the Canadian national team and would win the gold medal defeating the United States.
