- Johnny Giavotella finally revealed his ailment: fourth cranial nerve palsy. This condition causes weakness or paralysis to a small muscle behind the eye and can lead to double vision and cross-eyed vision.
- Matt Shoemaker will mis his next start against the Dodgers due to a very mild forearm strain. Nick Tropeano will start in his place.
- Albert Pujols was switched to DH for Saturday night’s game against the Texas Rangers at the Big A. Albert is dealing with soreness in his right toe that is causing him much pain. He’s playing through it. But C.J. Cron will play first base.
- Cron might be the big bat the Angels have been looking for. And he’s been right under their noses the entire time. Probably why they refused to deal him or top prospect Sean Newcomb. Possible All-Star future core there to mold together with Mike Trout, Pujols, and Kole Calhoun
